Ace Attorney Investigations this winter

A lot of things happened at the Captivate'09. For example, the localized version of Gyakuten Kenji, Ace Attorney Investigations has been officially announced for winter 09. As if the announcement alone wouldn't be enough, an official English trailer has been made available, which also revealed some localized character names. You can watch it below.

Also, the official localized logo for Ace Attorney Investigations has been published and pretty much confirms what could be seen on the cropped photo we posted yesterday.

Also a few screenshots from the localized version have appeared.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but side projects and work are keeping me busy. @_@

I'll break down what happened so far in a short summary.

Gyakuten Kenji release date: 28/05/2009
The Japan release of Gyakuten Kenji is just a mere month away. Get your preorders ready if you haven't already.

Localized title for Gyakuten Kenji: "Ace Attorney Investigations"
It seems that the official localized title for the upcoming Gyakuten Kenji game will be "Ace Attorney Investigations" in the US and probably also the EU.
That has been remotely confirmed now by a photo from the Captivate'09 Event.

Limited Edition Gyakuten Kenji DSi: Blue Badger Design
A limited edition Nintendo DSi will be going on sale in Japan. It will feature a special Blue Badger (Taiho-kun) design.

Be advised that when importing, you will only be able to play Japanese DSi titles on it. DS titles, however, can be played from any region.

Gyakuten Saiban Opera site revealed

The official site to the Gyakuten Saiban Opera Project has been revealed and made available to the public.
You can find all infos you need to know about it on the site, which is located here. (Knowledge of the Japanese language required.)

Fan Feature

Today we'd like to bring your attention to an interesting looking fan game project, created by papermario13689 in PWLib.

Synopsis
In his many years of being a defense attorney, Phoenix Wright has left many legacies behind. Of his many cases, only a select few are remembered by the masses, while the others disintegrate into the past. After losing his Attorney's Badge, Phoenix Wright decides to relive his cases once again, to be a part of his past, just once more.

In order to restore his lost memories, Phoenix reactivates the Mason System. However, when an outside source causes a system malfunction, Phoenix is thrust into the past, and while losing some of his faithful memories, he must once again prove a handful of his clients innocent...or be stuck in the past forever.

(Because this game is made to be as realistic as the real game as possible, the cases will fit in the timeline of the other Phoenix Wright games.)

Gameplay
Your main goal is to collect enough evidence for the case at hand, but sometimes, you will get a couple of odd items that have something to do with the Mason System malfunction. These will be stored away in your court record until the final case, where you will use these to find out what happened.

Court will use the ever-so-popular "life bar," and penalties will come in 3 harshnesses. While pointing out simple contradictions with no big meaning incorrectly will result in a small penalty, greater contradictions will bear a more strict loss of the life bar. Sometimes, like in the real PW games, the prosecutors will be happy to add even more to the punishing penalties.

There will also be things like a collaboration picture in the case select screen once you beat a case, and thanks to KSA_Tech allowing PWLib to play .avi movies, there will be introduction videos!

Yes, it has finally happened!

Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright - Trials & Tribulations has been officially released in Europe.

Rapidly fly to your local game store for this late arriving but still amazingly awesome game in it's localized form.
(And as always: Don't forget to call beforehand in case it's already out of stock. )

At the moment we're hard at work with extracting the new localized voice clips from the game, so stay tuned.

Also, a 3 seconds video clip from the upcoming Gyakuten Kenji game has appeared. You can find it in the Nintendo Conference trailer, in the second half. Enjoy.

Also, with the release of Trials and Tribulations in Europe, Nintendo of Europe has released the video recording of the Gyakuten Meets Orchestra concert of Godot's theme on the Wii's Nintendo Channel.

Gyakuten Kenji scans

Two new scans from the Famitsu magazine have surfaced,

The two new characters revealed in these scans are apparently:
Ichijou Mikumo - some kind of thief (maybe a reoccuring character?)
Yuuki Makoto - a prosecutor (new rival?)

Also apparently the game will also feature three key parts, split into "Invesigation", "Logic" and "Confrontation".

Gyakuten Meets Orchestra 2008

Trials & Tribulations European Release Date?

Not many news at the moment, hopefully that'll change soon.

But something interesting seems to have happened, at least for Europeans. The UK site of NoE is now listing Ace-Attorney: Phoenix Wright- Trials & Tribulations on their release schedule for 2008.

There it's said to be released October 3rd 2008, hopefully that date and the overall release are final.

We'll keep you updated in case anything changes.

Voice rips updated

Just letting you know that we have updated our Voice rip section with the latest voices from the freshly released European version of Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice.
So far we were only able to obtain the German and French voices, but we're hoping to get the Italian and Spanish ones soon so stay tuned.

Gyakuten NOT Saiban?

It's not the official date yet, but the curtain seems to have lifted.

As reported in the new Famitsu, the new Gyakuten NOT Saiban game will be known as Gyakuten Kenji (translation: "Turnabout Prosecutor") and will be different than your usual Gyakuten Saiban games, as the name already suggests.
This time you will be taking the role of Edgeworth to roll up cases the prosecutor way, accompained by your trustworthy assistant Dick Gumshoe you will investigate crime scenes for evidence.

GoNintendo has two scans from the Famitsu magazin up, which feature a few screenshots from the new game, as well as some information about it. (Sadly only in Japanese.)

Ace Attorney Updates: As reported on Siliconera, Japan will be getting a PC version of the previous GBA cases, which will be broken up into several episodes, so it won't be a "complete" game in that sense. The first episode will be released on March 18th and will be free for download. The other upcoming episodes will price around 120 Yen.

Also as reported on Court-Records, a "case-maker" website is available in Japanese under the name of "Let's make Gyakuten Saiban" on which you are able to create your own Gyakuten Saiban cases. Not much is known about this since it requires a sign-up on a Japanese website. But it would be worth a try in any case.

Interview with CAPCOMs new marketing "fish"

The official Ace Attorney Website has been updated to fit the new upcoming game, Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice.
Probably one of the most interesting things is the so called "Dev Blog", where you are able to read entries posted by the developers about the game.

The site now also features screenshots, a video, wallpapers, email signatures and IM icons. We have added the new wallpapers to our Media section, so you can download them directly from us as well.

Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice - The Demo

As reported on the official CAPCOM blog, a Flash demo of the first case from the upcoming fourth Ace Attorney game (Apollo Justice) has been released to the public.
This is the same demo version that has been around the net since the Japanese release of the game, except that this version is fully translated to English, which uplifts the play-fun for non-Japanese speakers quite a lot.

More defined Apollo Justice Release Date?

As Shadu reported, GameStop is listing Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice to be released Feburary 19th, 2008, and are also taking reserves for it.
Of course we still have to wait for the Official Release Date announcement by CAPCOM, so this date is not really waterproof yet.

We'll inform you when more becomes known.

Update: As Shadu reported, the official CAPCOM website now lists Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice to be released on February 12th for North America.

Update two: As the official CAPCOM blog now reported, Apollo Justice will not be released on February 12th, but instead February 19th, as it's been listed by GameSpot before. Hopefully this will be the last change of the release date.

Introducing... Klavier Gavin

As Jeuxactu.com reported, Capcom USA has confirmed the English name of Kyouya Garyu on the Gamer's Day. As we speculated, it will indeed be Klavier Gavin.
