Gyakuten Saiban - iPhone/iPod touch

posted on 03.12.2009 @ 09:12 AM CET by
After just getting over the excitement of learning about Phoenix Wright's transition to the Wii, we get word that the series is also being ported to the iPhone. And as you can see, the dual screen returns from the DS version, and the 'interface' gets a little graphical update.

The interview of Tatsuro Iwamoto - Famitsu Dec. 3

The current issue of Famitsu has a special feature article on the parents of game characters. Included are some GK sketchs and the interview. While there's no news of next title in the Gyakuten series, we learned that Iwamoto had a test for employment in either Capcom or KOEI. Considering this is an article about Capcom's Gyakuten Saiban, it makes sense that he was hired by Capcom. We also learn that he drew the picture of Daryan Crescend in GS4, this was not written in GS4 guide book.

Guys, I found some seconds of footage, including the art and music style we all know and love, and a couple of puzzles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0seNknYoIc

It's by the end of that video. Yeah, you have to watch throught the entire video for it, but it's worth it.

By the way, I just noticed this video was uploaded just today. What a coincidence, it was uploaded the only day I decided to search "Last Window" on YouTube...

EDIT: Oh, this was posted in WHAT A!? too, just noticed it. Well, it's here now too.

Forum Host Moving: Downtime incoming

posted on 29.11.2009 @ 09:02 PM CET by
The forums, and the frontpage news are going down shortly due to the server that they're on is being transferred. We won't be loosing anything, but everything powered by the forums will be in accessible for a period of time.

I am sorry about the short notice. I was only informed myself just now that the forum host would be moving. We 'should' be back up and running by this time tomorrow, but don't quote me on anything. Could be earlier could be later.

The transfer is due to begin at roughly 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Phoenix Wright Wiiware Confirmed + Dusk 2 Scan

posted on 19.11.2009 @ 02:18 AM CET by
The games are going to begin being released in January, for the USA each game will be $10, apparently about $2 cheaper then Japan, with GS1-5 coming out in May. The highlights from the press release is that you can present evidence with a wave of the wiimote or press by wiggling it (Read: Players can do the OBJECTION POINT).

The curious thing about the press release is that it says, "These games can be played via single-player and has multiple save slots." Multiple saves is swell. But I was never aware that AceAttorney was ever even remotely multiplayer.

The press release says nothing about remastering the graphics or audio, which I 'personally' think would be a big marketing point if they were going to do it.

Update:

Joystiq has gotten ahold of screenshots. The game is using sprites and other material from the DS version in the Wii Port. This isn't a port from the PC version, which was a 'direct' port of the GBA version. It looks like Capcom is putting some effort into this port.

And on the Hotel Dusk front a brochure has surfaced. Introducing Margaret of LA's 1980's Apartment Complex, and Kyle Hyde, not in his Sleuth/Salesman garb.

New Facts Stolen borrowed from GoNintendo :)

- Similar visual/audio style to the first game
- Takes place a year after the first title, in 1980 Los Angeles
- The main setting is the Cape West Apartments
- The story stands alone, but will also present some connections that fans of the original can enjoy
- Main character is once again Kyle, and he's still a bit of a jerk
- New 'ignore' feature for when you're trying to sift through conversations, and don't think a particular portion is worth butting into to find out details and progress the story
- There is a novel inside the game called 'Last Window'
- Every time you clear a game chapter, you open a new chapter in the Last Window book
- The novel will help flesh out the story, and the over-arching world that Kyle is in
- Novel contents are actually influenced by how you play the game, leading to multiple variations
- Rumble cart support

Hotel Dusk 2: For the DS confirmed

posted on 12.11.2009 @ 07:49 PM CET by
According to Game informer, CiNG is getting ready to promote a sequel to Court-Records.net cult favorite Hotel Dusk: Room 215. The new title is called Last Window: Mayonaka no Yakusoku (Last Window: Midnight Promise) and takes place in 1980's Los Angeles. The title is rumored for a Q1 release in Japan on January 14th.

If you've missed Court-Records excitement in the past over Hotel Dusk, I invite you to take a look at the WHAT A!? section of CR. You'll find a lot of good fun stuff there.

If you're looking to play more CiNG games, you may want to try Hotel Dusk or Trace Memory (Another Code: Two Memories to our European friends) on the DS. And our European friends were lucky enough to get Another Code: R - Gateway of Memories for the Wii. The gameplay is 'very' inspired by Hotel Dusk in the latter title.
