And what better way to celebrate the new year with a new banner set. Right now we're honoring the people behind the games.

Now, you're likely wondering who in the world all these faces are. The wonderful Croik has compiled this list.

Phoenix = Takumi Shu = Series creator
Mia = Minae Matsukawa = Producer
Apollo = Kazuya Nuri = Aritst for GS3 and AJ
Gumshoe = Motohide Eshiro = Kenji producer
Edgeworth = Takeshi Yamazaki = Kenji director

Let's give three cheers to the people who make the series what it is!

Sprites Sprites Sprites Sprites

posted on 31.12.2008 @ 07:06 AM CET by
A while ago I posted that I would be updating the AJ sprites with new rips. I'm still working on it...! You may have noticed already that many of the AJ gif pages are incomplete or not appearing at all. But the ones that are up now feature game rips provided by our pal Invertigo, which are much more accurate than the ones up before.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make another sprite update until Monday, so what's up there now is incomplete. The sheets are all still up, though those are eventually going to be updated as well, as their colors are slightly off from the new rips and some are missing frames I didn't know existed.

Of course, if you have a desperate need for animated Mr. Hat that can't wait, all the sprites are still up in their original subdirectory, here. You can also hunt up some more ripped sprites that haven't made it to their pages yet in the new GS4 folder.

Thanks for your patience and happy New Years!

Updating sprites, and you can help!

posted on 02.12.2008 @ 07:44 PM CET by
EDIT: Disregard! I've got what I need.

Our pal Invertigo just gave me a bunch of AJ rips, so over the next several days expect to see a lot of graphics updates, including game-accurate animations and updated sheets. Remember how we couldn't get all of them because of the witness stand being in the way? No longer a problem!

Speaking of sprites, I hope you're still working on your Sprite Cup entry! The deadline is just about a month away now, so there's still penty of time to enter. If you haven't been around in a while and don't know what I'm talking about, take a peek at the contest page for details.

New GK news!

posted on 14.11.2008 @ 04:30 AM CET by
Head over to the News section for two new scans from the recent Famitsu (provided by JapaneseGIRL). They introduce a new character for Gyakuten Kenji case 2 (a female flight attendant named Ichiru Konomichi), as well as the name for the blonde man who has been floating around for some time now, Zinc White. CAse 2's victim also has a face now, but no name yet.

In other news, the upcoming Gyakuten Musical announced two new cast members: Edge Worth (not Miles Edgeworth, oddly enough) will be played by Hikaru Nanaho, while a new character, Leona Clyde, will be played by Asahi Miwa. For ticketing information, please visit this thread.

Lastly, on the fan-side of things, a trailer has been added to the casemaker section for Remnants of the Past, though at the moment it's not yet a playable fangame.

EDIT: The GK main site updated so there's new art and screenshots up in the GK sections.

Press Start 2008 ShangHai Concert-the video of the GS part

posted on 03.11.2008 @ 11:42 PM CET by
As what I heard a month ago, the Press Start 2008 Shanghai Concert was held on Oct.30th,and one of the played music was a combination of a few GS BGMs.

A video which was taken by one of the audiences can be watched here: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/2SQHPpVpkiQ/

Never mind the Chinese webpage, the video will automatically start to play after buffering.

I hope they will start to sell the concert CD as soon as possible...

Thanks to a tip in the last post, we've got some more Gyakuten Kenji news to share!

A newcomer to the PW LJ community posted her experiences playing the game, and also took some very nice pictures and posted her thoughts. You'd be remiss if you missed Edgeworth's threats of revenge over his tea set.

Post TGS Famitsu Goodness

posted on 30.10.2008 @ 07:29 PM CET by
According to the latest issue of Famitisu, Capcom totally stole the show at TGS. According to their poll of 55 companies Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor was the most popular portable title shown! Gyakuten Kenji achieved 15 'best portable game' votes, second went to Dragon Quest IX with 11 votes.

You can read a bit more about Capcom's success at TGS at 1up

Boy am I envious. These gaming expos always seem to be the highlights of the year. Imagine if you could attend one. Well, actually, it might not be all that exciting, considering most of us can't speak/read/understand Japanese. And then there will be those epidemic cases fractured wallet-itus everyone seems to have after attending. But hey we can dream right?
