Larry Butz is Phoenix's friend since grade school.

There was a saying in school that "When something smells, it's usually the Butz." Having known him for 23 years, Phoenix knows it to be true. Larry often gets himself in muddles of situations that are usually not his fault, but otherwise he's a good person at heart and a loyal friend. He makes several appearances throughout the game.

Larry is generally not very bright, he even loses his temper quite easily and is somewhat pessimistic when he's aware of his romantic relationships falling down the drain. He seems to have a tendancy to go after women whom are models, models like Cindy Stone, the victim of PW:AA Case One, where he takes to the defendant's chair for her death. He also has a hard time grasping a situation at hand with his short attention span.

Larry is also easily influenced by his girlfriends and often dons different professions by their request.
