Winston Payne is a prosecuting attorney whom you'll face in every first case of the Ace Attorney series, he is also referred to as "The Rookie Crusher" and had at one point taken on a variable appearance, such as a quiff and a green suit.

There's not much to say about Payne other than his having a superior complex, but such appearance would drift into nothing when he actually faces harder opponents. It was thanks to one of those opponents that Payne had lost his hair due to shock of losing the case. As we see him later on he starts taking on a rather unusual flip of a hairstyle.

It is factual that he has a wife, as he had stated himself in Trials and Tribulations (Gyakuten Saiban 3)

His name "Winston Payne" takes on the words "Winced in Pain" which seems to suit his characteristics.
